For Realtors

We believe Realtors play a pivotal role in efforts to protect the architectural heritage and promote strong and vibrant neighborhoods in the city of Dallas. Knowledgeable, aware realtors are better able to market the benefits of historic properties and get them into the hands of buyers who will care for them.

At Preservation Dallas, we offer a variety of services to assist realtors in marketing historic properties.

Our Historic House Specialist Certification Program is an intensive two-day seminar designed exclusively for realtors. To date, more than 350 realtors have completed the course.

The Preservation Dallas Intown Living Center has displays and information on more than 160 intown neighborhoods.

Our Resource Library is a collection of more than 2500 books, periodicals and files that can encourage the purchase and rehabilitation of historic houses.

We can help realtors understand what Historic and Conservation District status means for homeowners in those neighborhoods.

We offer specific presentations on preservation topics of interest to realtors. These can be held either in their offices or at Preservation Dallas. Finally, the regular tours and events planned for Preservation Dallas members are often of special interest to realtors  offering opportunities for networking and for increasing knowledge of specific architectural styles like Fifties Modern or Downtown Lofts.

The City of Dallas website provides information about Dallas’ Conservation Districts, Historic Districts and the Neighborhood Stabilization Overlay. Realtors will also find information about city tax incentives for rehabilitation of City of Dallas Landmarks or structures in Landmark Districts.
