Located at Preservation Dallas 2922 Swiss Avenue, the Resource Library is a
collection of more than 2500 books, periodicals, files and videotapes on
architectural styles, rehabilitation techniques, house plans and Dallas history.
Homeowners researching the history of their house, rehabilitators looking for
guidance on styles and techniques and architects investigating specific
structures and styles all have found what they needed at the Resource Library.
Specifically, the collection includes the following:
- Restoration supply catalogues
- Style manuals
- Paint sample books
- Historic house plan books
- Periodicals such as This Old House, Old House Interiors and
Traditional Building
- Technical briefs with in-depth how-to information from the National Trust
for Historic Preservation
- Files containing news clipping, research reports and other historic
information on individual buildings and neighborhoods in Dallas
In addition, Preservation Dallas offers full and half-day workshops on
specific topics like historic interiors or how to approach rehabilitating an
historic house. Recognized leaders in each subject area lead workshops.
