The Neighborhood Handbook is a how-to guide for anyone
trying to organize or manage a neighborhood association. It
covers a variety of topics including what to do before holding
your first meeting, how to survey your neighborhood to
determine high-priority issues and how to decide whether to
incorporate your association.
The 350-page guide discusses how to get and stay organized, the resources
available free to neighborhood associations and long-term planning issues. It
contains a complete directory of city services, helpful IRS documents and an
article on the history of Dallas’ 20th century neighborhoods. Plus it includes a
convenient pocket for your neighborhood’s important records.
The Preservation Dallas Neighborhood Handbook is free to any existing or
soon-to-be organized Dallas neighborhood association. Any authorized
representative can complete the neighborhood survey and receive a copy of the
handbook at Preservation Dallas. Additional copies can be purchased for $40.
For more information, email, call (214) 821-3290 or visit Preservation Dallas
at 2922 Swiss Avenue.
