The Neighborhood Handbook is a how-to guide for anyone trying to organize or manage a neighborhood association. It covers a variety of topics including what to do before holding your first meeting, how to survey your neighborhood to determine high-priority issues and how to decide whether to incorporate your association.

The 350-page guide discusses how to get and stay organized, the resources available free to neighborhood associations and long-term planning issues. It contains a complete directory of city services, helpful IRS documents and an article on the history of Dallas’ 20th century neighborhoods. The Preservation Dallas Neighborhood Handbook is free to any existing or soon-to-be organized Dallas neighborhood association. Any authorized representative can complete the neighborhood survey and receive a copy of the handbook at Preservation Dallas. Additional copies can be purchased for $40.
