Preservation Resources

At Preservation Dallas, we know that preserving our architectural heritage requires the efforts and enthusiasm of a variety of groups. We’re committed to providing assistance and resources to realtors, property owners and neighborhoods. Our goal is to help them play a vital role in preserving the unique character and style of their house, their neighborhood and their city.

For Realtors, our Historic House Specialist Program is designed specifically to help market and promote intown neighborhoods. Plus we offer our comprehensive Resource Library, special presentations as well as our regular educational tours and events for our members.

Property owners can learn more about restoring, rehabilitating and remodeling their home. Plus they can research their home and its style in our Resource Library and find information on special financing options for historic properties.

For neighborhoods, we offer assistance in forming a neighborhood association, primarily through the Neighborhood Handbook. Plus our Neighborhood Network and our staff can help neighborhoods understand the implications of seeking Historic or Conservation District status. Through our Intown Living Center, associations can market their neighborhood to prospective homebuyers.

We can also help you learn more about Dallas neighborhoods. There are more than 160 neighborhoods located within the Loop 12 boundary, each with its own unique architectural style and character. Plus you can learn more about Dallas architecture. Queen Anne, Prairie, Tudor Revival, Craftsman and Spanish Eclectic  all are represented today in Dallas neighborhoods.
