Marmol - Marmol Radziner + Associates |
Bridging the divide between architecture and construction,
Leo Marmol has created a unique design-build practice led by architects
that combines innovative design, thorough research, and construction
precision into a holistic approach to restore and create meaningful
modern spaces. The firm’s multidisciplinary approach combines
architecture, landscape, interior design, furniture design, construction,
and prefabricated housing to create the ability to manage the
execution of designs with the same rigor with which they were
designed. Leo will explain how the firm’s experience in
restoration of mid-century modern homes has influenced new residential
projects as well as the design and fabrication of the firm’s
new line of modern prefab homes.
About
Leo Marmol
In 1989, Leo Marmol and Ron Radziner formed their partnership,
launching a unique design-build practice led by architects. As
managing principal of the firm, Leo is responsible for the translation
of drawings into physical buildings and directs all construction.
Since its inception, the firm has developed a growing reputation
for its innovative design approach, research and precision in
applying construction standards. The firm’s unique business
practice and commitment to design excellence was rewarded with
the honor of being named the American Institute of Architects
California Council’s 2004 Firm of the Year.
Leo’s home near Palm Springs is the prototype for Marmol
Radziner Prefab, the firm’s new line of green modular homes
that are built in its factory and delivered complete. With a passion
for mid-century Modern residences, Leo’s extensive research
and creative construction methods have resulted in numerous awards
for Marmol Radziner + Associates’ renovation and restoration
work, including Richard Neutra’s 1946 Kaufmann House in
Palm Springs.
Leo Marmol received his Bachelor of Architecture with a Minor
in Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University in
San Luis Obisbo, California. Soon after completing this degree,
Marmol became licensed as an architect and a contractor in California.
