Preservation Dallas created the Preservation Center as a resource for potential residents, homeowners and developers. Based in the Wilson House at 2922 Swiss Avenue, the Preservation Center provides information and support for buying, maintaining, revitalizing and restoring intown buildings and neighborhoods. The Intown Living Center

This unique resource offers information on the advantages of living within the Loop 12 area. Homeowners and potential residents can access touch-screen computers, neighborhood marketing notebooks and neighborhood datasheets to make an informed buying decision. Realtors can attend a twice yearly seminar to learn more about the characteristic and history of intown neighborhoods and earn a certification as Historic House Specialists.

Neighborhood Assistance

This program provides resources for community leader to help them create strong neighborhoods. Preservation Dallas provides assistance in establishing and maintaining neighborhood organizations, as well as training and equipment to publish community newsletters. The Neighborhood Assistance program also provides a free comprehensive guide for neighborhood associations and helps neighborhoods work toward historic designation.

The Preservation Resource Library

Our library provides anyone researching preservation with books, videotapes, and catalogs for guidance on rehabilitation. The archives contain abundant information on specific Dallas buildings and neighborhoods. In addition, the library also offers periodic seminars on rehab topics to members and the general public.

Through the Preservation Center, Preservation Dallas offers technical assistance and services to everyone interested in the preservation of intown Dallas. The Preservation Center demonstrates how our creative neighborhood revitalization strategies leverage neighborhood resources for economic development. Through information about the variety of amenities, neighborhoods, lifestyles and housing options available in intown Dallas, the Preservation Center seeks to revitalize the heart of the city.
