Preservation Dallas has established a number of programs to achieve its mission of preservation and revitalization. Between 2001 and 2005, this citywide architectural survey will involve neighborhoods and community groups to identify and document more than 400,000 properties significant to our past.
The Preservation Center, which includes the Intown Living Center, the Preservation Resource Library, and the Archives, provides information on the advantage of living within the loop.
Preservation Dallas is dedicated to educating neighborhood groups, individuals, the City of Dallas and others with an interest in the preservation of intown Dallas through seminars, conferences and workshops.
Preservation Dallas hosts tours of the Historic Wilson Block and the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church to educate visitors about important historic landmarks in Dallas and the impact that preservation efforts can achieve.
Preservation Dallas works to revitalize commercial areas with historic significance. The Central Business District of Dallas encompasses one of Texas’ highest concentration of 19th and early 20th century commercial and public buildings.
Preservation Dallas preserves and strengthens neighborhoods through direct assistance to fledgling and established neighborhood associations, particularly in intown Dallas.
